Altai Krai

Altai Krai is a federal subject of Russia located in Western Siberia, on the border with Kazakhstan and China. The krai is known for its fertile black-earth soils, agricultural production, and as the gateway to the Altai Mountains, one of the most beautiful mountain regions in Russia.

The administrative center of the krai is the city of Barnaul, a major industrial and cultural hub of Siberia.
