The official inauguration of the VI International Conference of Member States of the Black Sea Economic Cooperation (BSEC) Development of resort and tourism infrastructure in the Black Sea Region was held in Gelendzhik on October 27, 2011.
This traditional Forum, which took place in Sochi in 2010, returned to the city, to which it owes its inclusion in the calendar of events under the aegis of Russiatourism, as well as its addition to the official calendar of events of the BSEC Permanent International Secretariat. This year, the Russian Federation is chairing this respected organization.
The International Conference Development of resort and tourism infrastructure in the Black Sea Region is organized by Russiatourism, the Administration of Krasnodar Territory, and the Administration of Gelendzhik Resort City, a municipality, and supported by the RF Ministry of Sport, Tourism and Youth Policy and the UN World Tourism Organization.
Alexander Radkov, Head of the Federal Agency for Tourism, opened the conference and its plenary session.
Zoltán Somogyi, UNWTO Executive Director, delivered a welcoming address on behalf of UNWTO and a substantive report Forecast of the World Tourism Organization for the development of tourism in the Black Sea Region.
Vladimir Zhidkikh, Head of the Commission on Youth Affairs and Tourism, delivered a welcoming address on behalf of the Federation Council of the RF Federal Assembly.
The BSEC Permanent Secretariat was represented at the Forum by Mr. Dordevic, who told the participants about the work of this organization in the development of tourism infrastructure in the Black Sea Region.
Ozgur Ozaslan, First Deputy Minister of Culture and Tourism of the Republic of Turkey, who headed a large delegation from his country, delivered a report entitled Cooperation in the sphere of cruise-tourism development in the Black Sea Region.
Ivo Marinov, Deputy Minister of Economy, Energy and Tourism of Bulgaria, spoke about the development of tourism infrastructure for special types of tourism in the Black Sea Region.
Ara Petrosyan, Deputy Minister of Economy of the Republic of Armenia, delivered a report entitled Prospects for development of the winter and health tourism of Armenia. Diversification of the Armenian tourism product.
Zakir Aliev, Director of the Baku Tourism Information Centre, presented the audience with the tourism potential and investment opportunities of Azerbaijan.
Sessions of thematic roundtables, as well as a meeting of the Russian-Bulgarian Working Group on Tourism also took place on the day of official inauguration of the BSEC Forum. On October 28, a roundtable devoted to staff training in the tourism industry and a meeting of the BSEC Working Group on Tourism were held.
